Degenerate Era
The slow cooling after the universe’s peak of light. Light fades as stars die. The universe cools into remnants, carrying the memory of structure without the energy to renew it.
The degenerate era is the future period of the universe when star formation has ended and existing stars have burned out, leaving behind remnants like white dwarfs, neutron stars, and black holes. With little unusable energy left. The universe grows darker and colder as these remnants slowly fade or decay over immense timescales. This era marks the gradual winding Dow of cosmic activity.
