Black Hole Era
A long descent into darkness ruled by collapsing giants. Black holes inherit the universe’s mass and slowly erase it through evaporation.
The black hole era is the distant future of the universe when most matter has collapsed into black holes and almost all other cosmic structures have faded away. During this time, black holes slowly lose mass through hawking radiation and eventually evaporate over incredibly long timescales. It is an age dominated by darkness, where black holes are the final major sources of energy before they, too, disappear.
